WEGE - Residential care for people released from prison

The WEGE, a residential care facility for people released from prison in Wels, offers a temporary, supervised housing opportunity and the chance for a new beginning.

Social workers accompany and support the residents in organising their lives, finding work and accommodation, building relationships, settling debts, dealing with conflicts and much more. Volunteers and community service workers are available as counsellors at night and on weekends. Through this round-the-clock support, WEGE offers a positive social environment for the time after imprisonment and opens up new perspectives for a life free of delinquency.

The length of stay in the twelve single rooms is determined individually and is approx. 1 - 2 years. After that, external care in rented flats or in the clients' own flats is possible. Residents are expected to accept the house rules and the social work support.

Admission is not possible in cases of acute drug or alcohol addiction or certain sexual offences.
